NEW CLIENTS—
Starting therapy can be straightforward.
Whether you’ve been in therapy before or this is your first time, you may have a few questions about what to expect.
Here’s what you need to know before getting started.
How it works
01 | Schedule a consultation
Start with a complimentary virtual consultation. We’ll talk briefly about what brings you in, what you’re looking for, and whether working together makes sense.
02 | Complete your paperwork
If you decide to move forward, you’ll receive secure intake forms to complete before your first appointment.
03 | Meet for your initial evaluation
Your first appointment takes place by secure video and gives us time to understand what you’re experiencing, relevant parts of your history, what’s important to you, and what you’d like to be different.
04 | Begin therapy
Ongoing sessions are held virtually at frequency that makes sense for your needs and treatment plan. We’ll establish a plan for our work together and continue to evaluate what’s helping as therapy progresses.

COMMON QUESTIONS—
A few things you may be wondering
-
Many clients begin with weekly appointments, although frequency may vary depending on your needs, treatment plan, and circumstances. We’ll discuss what makes the most sense for you.
-
Many clients begin noticing meaningful changes within the course of treatment, although the pace and length of therapy vary depending on what we are addressing and your individual goals.
-
No. You don’t need to arrive with a diagnosis or know exactly how to describe what you’re experiencing. Part of the initial evaluation is developing a clearer understanding of what’s happening and what kind of care may be appropriate.
-
At this time, Ceva Wellness Collective provides services for adults ages 18 and older.
-
That’s one reason I offer a complimentary consultation. It gives us a chance to connect briefly, talk about what you’re looking for, and determine whether moving forward together makes sense.
-
The complimentary consultation is a brief 15-minute phone or video call. It gives you a chance to tell me a little about what brings you in, ask initial questions, and get a sense of whether working together may be a good fit. It is not a full clinical evaluation or therapy session.
-
Diagnostic assessment is incorporated into psychotherapy when clinically appropriate. Limited stand-alone clinical evaluations may be available on a case-by-case basis; please contact me to discuss whether your needs fall within the scope of the practice.
-
In many cases, HSA or FSA funds can be used for eligible mental health services. Because individual plans vary, you may want to confirm eligibility with your plan administrator.
-
Coverage varies by plan and service. Many plans may cover medically necessary initial evaluations and ongoing psychotherapy, while certain extended sessions or intensive services may not be covered. You can review your eligibility and estimated costs through Headway before scheduling.
-
Ceva Wellness Collective is an outpatient practice and does not provide emergency or crisis services. Communication between appointments is intended primarily for scheduling and other administrative needs.
If you are experiencing an emergency or need immediate support, call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
